Welcome to Field Agent!
We're excited to have you as an Agent! We created this page to help give some general tips to help you be successful out in the Field! For specifics on how to use the app, check out our article here: Navigating the App & Reserving Jobs
Be Prepared
-
You are an Undercover Agent. Do not identify yourself as being with Field Agent unless otherwise instructed. You are being contracted to be a normal everyday shopper. Be discrete when taking photos, answering questions, and interacting with personnel.
- Read the instructions BEFORE going into the store and beginning the job. Know what's expected so you can better be undercover.
-
Go to the address given in the job. Do not rely on GPS pinpoints.
- Make sure you have allowed Field Agent to access your location & camera.
-
Know the operating hours of the store or location you are visiting - and do not go to a store when it is closed.
-
Permanently closed locations will require a photo of the closed store or whatever facility is currently at the job address. For more on what to do if a store is permanently closed or moved, check out our article here: What if the store is permanently closed or moved?
In the Field
-
Dress and act appropriately for the shop/assignment. Remember, you are undercover, do not call attention to yourself. If you do not feel comfortable with the role or assignment, simply cancel your reservation and check for other opportunities.
-
If you are requested to take a selfie or a video selfie be sure your attire is appropriate. No tanks or low cut tops, please.
-
Respect store personnel. If you are spotted taking pictures and asked to stop or leave the store, please comply. Submit any portion of the job you were able to complete. It is important to remember we never require illegal action as a part of any job. Leave the store and tell us what happened in the comments.
-
Foul language is not professional at any time and will not be tolerated.
General Best Practices
- Know the reservation time. Time starts when you reserve the job, not when you begin to complete the job.
-
All photos must be submitted via the app to protect the integrity of the data. Be sure to read all instructions carefully and only submit clear photos.
-
Capture an image for EVERY photo request. Look for alternate instructions to follow if the first request for a photo is not available.
-
Answer every question, always answer honestly.
- This is your chance to be heard! Give good feedback and tons of detail when asked for your opinion. This is more than a few bucks; it is your chance to make a difference.

These instructions were very clear, and I look forward to working with you guys! Laci.
Merchandising shop should be revealed shop as it makes locating items easier. Also scavenger items should have a picture on the survey for prooer identification.
I would like to add as well there should be a section at the end of the assignment (where we would write our comments) to be able to upload pictures that relate to any comments or concerns that we might have. There have been instances where uploading pictures would have helped explain some of my comments or concerns a lot better. You can only explain something in words so far but having the option to put in pictures as well as our feed back would help. Thanks.

Hello and thanks for the helpful information. I agree with the previous 2 comments. ***Additionally, (just personal opinion) , I sincerely feel that the Wal-Mart customer service audits are lengthy enough for paying more than what is originally offered at times. For example, $3.00 or $4.00 is a bit small for a job requiring such time and details as these customer service audits. TY for the opportunities!
One more thought-there are times that jobs are too spread out, making the time and gas to get from one to the next not worth it. Then after completing one and moving on to another at a separate location, I may find that at my previous job’s location (or close by the previous location) pops up another job or two. I could have easily completed these jobs if they had been released a little sooner. I understand that people reserve them and cancel. But there are clearly times that I see a number of new ones launched after I have left a nearby location. Thanks again! You guys are great and I appreciate you are always listening to agents and remain open for improvements! 🙂

I have completely finished setting up my account and yet no jobs are available to me. Is there anything you can tell me about that?
Hi Zachary, Thank you for reaching out to us. We will open a ticket for you here and hopefully get this resolved via email soon. Thanks!
