Field Agent is required to file a 1099-MISC form for any Agents making at least $2000 in a year.
If it looks like you'll hit $2000 for the year, you'll automatically receive an email from Tax1099, our IRS-Authorized E-File partner, with a link to fill out and return a W-9 form. We'll need this to file your 1099-MISC.
In order to ensure we have the necessary information on all Agents that reach the $2000 mark, we require the W-9 to be filled out around the $1700-$1800 mark. This allows for time for the forms to be completed and submitted without interrupting the jobs in your app. However, if the form is not sent before $1900, the app will pause and will no longer show jobs.
We will only file a W-9 when you reach $2000. If you fill out a W-9 and do not reach $2000, we will not submit a W-9 and you will not receive a 1099-MISC.
Do note that 1099 filing limit of $2000 is based on a calendar year. That limit starts over every year on January 1st. If you are to receive a Form 1099 (earning $2000+), you will receive that via email from Tax1099 (support@tax1099.com) on Field Agent's behalf.
Please keep in mind that the IRS requires all earnings and income to be reported each year. The $2000 limit is only the requirement for the Payors (companies) at which time they must file a 1099 for their w9 Payees (individuals).
At this time, the only data we store on your past jobs is in your transaction history, which includes the job names and payment amounts. If you need information on your past job locations, distances traveled, etc. for your records, you will need to keep track of this yourself.
If you need to update your W-9 information:
- Submit a ticket and provide any name change or mailing address info that needs to be changed.
- If you need to update the TIN or would otherwise prefer to make edits yourself, please request a new W-9 and we can send a new link for you to edit that form.

Any idea on when we can expect to see the 1099's? And will they be delivered electronically or via USPS?
Hi Chris, Field Agent typically sends Form 1099 to all Agents who earned $600+ in the previous calendar year in the first few weeks of January. This year (2022), we sent most of them on January 14th.
If you have questions or want to check on the status of a Form 1099, please feel free to submit a request ticket to our Agent Experience Team.

Can someone please send me a W9 form...support does not understand what I am asking them for some weird reason...
Hi @Marc and @Sihua,
My apologies for the delayed reply on this thread!! If you're still awaiting a W-9 form link from Tax1099, please submit a ticket via the Help Center in the Field Agent app. Our Agent Experience Team will be happy to assist you in that process to get that resolved. Thanks!
I’ve submitted W-9 and app still will not allow me to accept new jobs. I’ve submitted a ticket as well and still no response. I don’t want to submit multiple because it may become confusing.
I have submitted a W-9 multiple times and emailed in the help center multiple times. My account has been locked up for over a week. I am not seeing any jobs and it is not even letting me accept ticket jobs. Can someone please help me get this issue resolved.
Hi @logan and @Mecah
It seems these comments did not get on the radar for our team. Our apologies.
If you are unable to see jobs even after submitting the W-9, it's possible there was an issue with the processing. Please submit a ticket via the Help Center in the app and our team will be able to help get that resolved!
Hello Ben. I just received the email from field agent requesting that I fill out a W-9. After reading this thread my question is I am nowhere near the $550 amount My year-to-date earnings are under $400.
Is this request still valid?
Hi @Gregory! It's not required at this time, but we provide the W-9 form early so that you do not have any issues when you hit the cut-off limit of $550. Once you fill out the form and it is validated in our system, you won't be required to fill this form out again.
I hope that helps!
Thanks for this article. Just for reference this is in regards for the 2026 calendar year? Thanks in advance!
Hi @Dan, Thank you for the note and clarification. Yes, the limit was increased from $600 in 2025 to $2,000 now in 2026.
We will process Form 1099s for 2025 this month for any Agents that earned $600+ in 2025.
Does anyone know if there is a 1-800 number I can call to set up my direct deposit beings that direct deposit is not working from the app?
